White areas

A white zone refers to a geographic sector where mobile network coverage (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G) is insufficient or even non-existent. In the context of vehicle geolocation, this means that a vehicle is temporarily out of the range of telecommunications networks, preventing the transmission of data in real time (GPS position, alerts, various telematic feedback, etc.).

To avoid this phenomenon, the telematic boxes offered by OPTIMUM are delivered with multi-operator SIM cards, which allow automatic connection to the most efficient mobile network available, among several telecom operators (Orange, SFR, SFR, Bouygues, Free, etc.). Used in embedded telematics boxes, these SIM cards guarantee a continuous network connection, even when traveling in areas that are poorly covered by a single operator.
