Connectivity
La connectivity refers to the ability of a vehicle to transmit and/or receive data in real time using telematics boxes.
It allows for proactive fleet management: vehicle geolocation, preventive maintenance, fuel monitoring, real-time alerts.
Corridoring
Corridoring is a geofencing feature offered as part of the OPTIMUM Geolocation service that allows you to define virtual corridors (or corridors) on a map. When a vehicle enters or leaves these corridors, an alert is generated in real time.
This function is useful for monitoring compliance with itineraries, monitoring deliveries, or detecting deviations from predefined routes that generate unnecessary costs.
Cost analysis
The car fleet often represents the 2nd largest item of business expenses after salaries. It is therefore essential for fleet managers to monitor, analyze and optimize the various cost items that make up the TCO of the car fleet.
The module of fleet management of the OPTIMUM platform allows you to benefit from a faithful and evolving picture of the different types of fleet costs: fuel, insurance, rents, financial loss, non-deductible depreciation (AND), Benefits in Kind (AEN), interviews... Everything is centralized for easy analysis!
Data Trouble Codes (DTC)
Les Data Trouble Codes (DTC) are embedded diagnostic codes transmitted by vehicle electronics when a malfunction is detected. These standardized codes (such as OBD-II) make it possible to precisely identify the origin of a technical problem: engine, battery, sensors, emissions, etc.
The integration of DTCs into a fleet management platform, via CAN telematic boxes or original telematics boxes pre-installed by manufacturers, makes it possible to capture all the information from the vehicle's on-board computer: oil levels, fuel level, fuel level, battery level, battery level, mileage meter, maintenance deadline, etc.
Datamining
Datamining, or data mining, is an advanced analysis technique that makes it possible to extract relevant information from massive volumes of data from the fleet (routes, consumption, etc.). In vehicle fleet management, datamining helps to apprehend large volumes of data to make them usable. For example, theelectrification study OPTIMUM is based on an in-depth analysis of the uses of each vehicle, over a significant period of time (generally 3 months). All the sensitive parameters for deciding whether to electrify vehicles (or not) are rigorously analyzed: distance of trips, duration of trips, duration of break times, night parking places, etc...
The analysis of all these parameters thus makes it possible to define whether a vehicle can be electrified in terms of its actual operation.
Driving behavior
The behavior of driving/road behavior refers to all of a driver's driving habits: accelerations, braking, speed, etc.
The analysis of this data, via telematic boxes, makes it possible to assess the risks for each driver. So, the continuous analysis of road behavior makes it possible to assign, via complex algorithms, an “ECO-INDEX” grade to each driver. The identification of risky behaviors thus makes it possible to implement risk prevention actions as well as challenges intended to promote eco-driving.
Eco-driving
Eco-driving includes a set of driving behaviors aimed at reducing fuel consumption, limiting vehicle wear, reducing CO₂ emissions and reducing claims. It is based on practices such as foresight, flexibility at the wheel, compliance with speed limits and the proper use of engine brakes.
The OPTIMUM Driving Analysis service is based on the continuous analysis of 3 key parameters: acceleration, braking and cornering. The processing of this data by algorithms makes it possible to assign, to each driver, an “ECO-INDEX” grade. The implementation of challenges, via the OPTIMUM car fleet management platform, thus makes it possible to stimulate the adherence of drivers to the virtues of eco-driving.
Promoting eco-driving within a car fleet makes it possible to achieve significant savings (fuel, maintenance, repairs, tires, etc.) while contributing to the company's CSR objectives (reduction of polluting emissions, etc.).
Eco-index
ECO-INDEX is the name of the rating assigned to each driver according to his road behavior. This score is defined by the continuous analysis of 3 key driving parameters: cornering, accelerating and braking.
The Driving Analysis service of the OPTIMUM car fleet management solution thus makes it possible to identify dangerous behaviors and to monitor everyone's progress, in particular through the implementation of challenges dedicated to eco-driving.
Fines
A fine (or report) sanctions a violation of the Highway Code. It is characterized by a financial penalty that can be supplemented, depending on the nature of the offense, by a withdrawal of points from the driver's license.
Since 2017, companies have been required to designate the responsible driver. Thanks to a direct connection to theANTAI, the OPTIMUM platform allows these formalities to be completed in just a few clicks. This makes it possible to maintain the responsibility of the company manager, to reduce management times and to optimize the accident rate of the car fleet, thanks to the accountability of drivers.
Fleet audit
A fleet audit makes it possible to make a complete and factual inventory of the fleet: number and type of vehicles, modes of ownership, activities/uses of drivers, total cost of the fleet.
Beyond the photograph delivered at the moment, the fleet audit, delivered by OPTIMUM, makes it possible to identify the various optimization levers: TCO, carbon footprint, energy transition...
Support of the OPTIMUM teams and the operation of connected services OPTIMUM thus makes it possible to establish real 360° optimization plans for the car fleet.
Fleet electrification
Fleet electrification refers to the process of gradual replacement of thermal vehicles by electric vehicles (EVs) or plug-in hybrids. It meets the challenges of reducing polluting emissions, complying with the LOM (Mobility Orientation Law of 24 December 2019) and ZFE and controlling TCO. This process involves a detailed analysis of uses and a study of charging infrastructures.
The electrification study proposed by OPTIMUM thus makes it possible to deliver a faithful photograph of the real uses of vehicles. The analysis of various parameters, such as the number of daily trips and their respective distances, the frequency and duration of downtime... makes it possible to define the compatibility of an electric motor with respect to real uses and to identify the needs for electric charging infrastructures.
Fuel consumption
Fuel consumption is a key performance indicator for any vehicle fleet. Its monitoring makes it possible to identify discrepancies, to detect excesses or fraud, and to optimize costs. Eco-driving, regular maintenance and the adaptation of vehicles to the needs of missions contribute to reducing this consumption.
The OPTIMUM car fleet management platform allows you to precisely monitor the consumption of each vehicle and to alert you in case of anomalies (in particular in relation to fuel bills and data provided by car manufacturers).
GPS beacon
The GPS beacon is another terminology used for vehicle geolocation. This connected device, installed on board vehicles (telematics box), is designed to report strategic data in real time: timestamp, GPS position, speed, driving events and, depending on the model, technical information from the on-board computer (fuel levels, battery, oil, or even fault codes - DTC).
A specialist in connected vehicles since 2006, Optimum offers a wide range of boxes adapted to all fleet configurations: waterproof, autonomous, CAN, OBD, or 2-wire battery models. The order is sent by the fleet manager (following vehicle theft or unauthorized use) via the OPTIMUM platform or The mobile application OPTIMUM CONNECT. This equipment is offered as an option as part of the vehicle geolocation service. It allows the effective security of vehicles and reduced immobilization thanks to their facilitated recovery (with the assistance of law enforcement agencies).
Inventory of vehicles
The inventory of a vehicle consists in checking its general condition when it is made available or returned, in particular in the context of a rental or management in a pool. It includes the inspection of the body, equipment, tires and the interior. Digitizing inventories allows better traceability, limits disputes, and facilitates the monitoring of damage or repair costs.
Intermediate inspections allow the fleet manager to know precisely the condition of each vehicle (body, interior, tires, etc.). Drivers are thus regularly (configurable frequency) invited to carry out, via the OPTIMUM CONNECT mobile application, a complete inventory of their vehicle. Equipped with the images, the fleet manager is then in a position to make the right decisions: insurance declaration, self-financed repair...
Keeping vehicles in perfect working condition makes it possible to extend their lifespan, to guarantee the safety of drivers but also to avoid return costs at the end of the rental contract.
Motion detection
Motion detection is a feature based on embedded sensors and telematics, which makes it possible to identify any unauthorized movement of a vehicle, even when the engine is off (e.g. towing).
This feature of geolocation service OPTIMUM reinforces vehicle safety (anti-theft, parking surveillance), triggers alerts in real time, and facilitates the precise monitoring of activity in the field or in the construction site area.
Private/professional canvases
OPTIMUM canvases make it possible to distinguish private uses from professional uses of vehicles.
The fleet manager defines for each driver the time slots worked (professional uses). Outside of these time slots, uses will be deemed private. These templates can of course be modified, by the fleet manager and/or by the driver. These changes can be made via the OPTIMUM fleet management platform and via the OPTIMUM CONNECT mobile application. The distinction between private/professional uses is particularly useful for Calculating Benefits in Nature and mileage allowances (for liberal professions).
Smart key cabinet
The implementation of Carsharing in business frequently requires technology to manage the provision of vehicle keys.
Several technologies exist: opening doors via Bluetooth or RFID badges, or even secure storage in a key cabinet connected and secure. Equipped with a confidential code, the user opens the cabinet and accesses the unlocked key corresponding to the reserved vehicle.
Telematics accessories
Telematics accessories are equipment connected to telematics boxes. Depending on the number of ports available on the box, it is possible to connect one or more telematics accessories.

The temperature reading is carried out regularly and transmitted in real time on the OPTIMUM car fleet management platform.
Car fleet
The car fleet refers to all the vehicles (cars, vans, trucks, 2 wheels) belonging to a company and made available to its employees. Their good management is strategic to optimize costs (TCO), ensure team mobility, reduce the carbon footprint and comply with legal obligations. A fleet can be owned, rented for a long term (LLD), assigned to employees, operated in a pool or even shared.
La fleet management platform OPTIMUM, makes it possible to manage and optimize all acts of fleet management: costs, environmental impact of vehicles, sharing vehicles and trips, taxation, etc.
Car taxation
Car fleets are subject to several specific taxes. A distinction is thus made between the annual tax on CO emissions.2 and the annual tax on emissions of air pollutants from the fleet. These two taxes replace the old TVS: Tax on Company Vehicles. The OPTIMUM car fleet management platform allows these 2 taxes to be automatically calculated. The fleet manager will only have to enter the information on the administrative declaration forms.
Company vehicles are also subject to the Benefits in Kind (AEN) taxation. In concrete terms, the tax authorities consider that providing an employee with a company vehicle corresponds to additional remuneration. Like the salary, this supplement, which increases the employee's gross remuneration, is therefore subject to social and employer contributions. To declare Benefits in Kind, the company can opt for various methods of declaration: for real or fixed.
The OPTIMUM fleet management solution allows, through canvases, to distinguish professional uses from private uses. This allows the fleet manager to simulate, for each vehicle/driver, the most advantageous declaration method. This results in significant savings for the company and preserved purchasing power for employees.
Charging infrastructures
Charging infrastructures are the technical equipment used to power electric vehicles (EVs): charging stations, reinforced sockets, fast charging stations, etc. In terms of fleet management, their deployment and supervision are essential to guarantee the availability of electric vehicles (EVs), avoid mission interruptions, and succeed in the gradual electrification of the fleet.

CO₂ taxes
Since the 1Er January 2023, the CO₂ tax partially replaces the old TVS. It is due by companies for each passenger vehicle used for professional purposes. Its amount is calculated according to the CO₂ emission rate (in g/km) of the vehicle, according to the WLTP standard. The more polluting a vehicle is, the higher the tax. This measure aims to encourage businesses to green their fleet by opting for vehicles that emit fewer greenhouse gases. It applies to all vehicles subject to emissions tax, whether owned, rented or leased.
The “TVS/AEN taxation” service of the OPTIMUM car fleet management solution makes it possible to automatically calculate the amount of this tax. All you have to do is report it directly to your tax return.
CSR
CSR refers to the voluntary commitment of companies to integrate social, environmental and ethical concerns into their strategy. In terms of car fleet management, this means the activation of one or more greening levers: the electrification of the fleet, the reduction of emissions through eco-driving, the prevention of road risks, the optimization of resources thanks to the “carsharing/carpooling” duo, or even the implementation of mobility policies that favor sustainable mobility. It is a strong lever for promoting corporate image and regulatory compliance (e.g. CSRD).
Charging at home
Charging at home concerns employees using a functional electric vehicle that they charge at home. Often more economical than recharges carried out on the network of public terminals, these however cause administrative difficulties in managing the reimbursement of employees. A service car is made available to an employee for strictly professional use, with daily or weekly returns. The service vehicle can be assigned to one and the same person or shared between several users. In the latter case, a driver identification system may be essential (e.g. fines) and/or a carsharing vehicle reservation system.
Whatever the nature of the vehicle (function/service) its type (company vehicle, LCV...), OPTIMUM car fleet management solution allows optimized management of vehicles and drivers.

Workflow
A workflow (or workflow) is a sequence of steps or actions that must be followed to carry out a business process in a structured and automated way. In terms of fleet management, this term frequently refers to all the steps involved in managing vehicle returns and renewals. The Worklow service of the OPTIMUM fleet management platform thus makes it possible to manage all the steps until the delivery of the renewal vehicle to its driver: list of vehicles to be renewed, validation of requests, choice of replacement vehicles, management of quotes, sending/receiving orders, receiving and sending packages to the driver, receiving and sending bags to the driver, registering in the fleet management platform and delivery.
Xls xlsx
