Mobilize, the Renault group's brand dedicated to new mobilities, has just officially extended its Mobilize Fleet Connect offering to France, leveraging Optimum by Shiftmove's technology.
This partnership, already active in several European countries, now allows French companies with Renault, Dacia, or Alpine vehicles to access a fleet management platform based on telematics and the utilization of onboard data.
The principle is as follows: data generated by the vehicles themselves (journeys, driving behavior, fuel consumption, etc.) are collected in real-time and centralized in a single interface, accessible to fleet managers. The stated goal is to enable them to make decisions based on reliable information rather than navigating blindly through scattered or incomplete data.
Real-time geolocation, eco-driving analysis, total cost of ownership tracking, and eventually, paperless fine management via integration with the ANTAI system – the functional scope covers most of the needs of a mid-sized corporate fleet.
The offer starts at 7.90 euros ex-VAT per vehicle per month, with two service levels. The Eco-Driving package focuses on analyzing driving behavior, while the Geolocation package also includes real-time location tracking and more comprehensive fleet monitoring. This entry-level pricing explicitly targets small and medium-sized fleets, which are often less well-equipped than large accounts in terms of management tools.
Shiftmove, a European player undergoing consolidation
Behind the Optimum brand is Shiftmove, a technology group formed in 2023 from the merger of Avrios, founded in Zurich in 2015, and Vimcar, founded in Berlin in 2013. Today, the group boasts over 500 employees, some 27,000 business customers, and nearly 730,000 vehicles under management across Europe. Its presence in France has been built through successive acquisitions: Optimum Automotive in 2024, then Ocean in 2025, giving it sectoral coverage and local expertise that few competitors can match in this market.
Shiftmove's stated ambition is to become the leading European platform for digital fleet management by 2027. The partnership with Mobilize aligns with this large-scale deployment strategy, leveraging the distribution power of the Renault network. The commercialization combines a direct sales model driven by Renault teams, with support from Optimum, and a referral model designed to identify opportunities among partially equipped customers — for example, those who have financing Mobilize but not yet a complete telematics solution.
Initial feedback from the deployment is encouraging: 90% of integrations were reportedly completed without a hitch, and users particularly highlight the quality of the data provided and the human support offered during onboarding. This is an important point, as fleet managers are often operational profiles who are reluctant to adopt complex tools without a safety net. The provision of a dedicated hotline and deployment support addresses this on-the-ground reality.
For Mobilize, this strengthening of the connected aspect of its fleet offering is part of a broader strategy aimed at providing businesses with a complete ecosystem combining financing, insurance, energy, and digital services centered around the vehicle. Data-driven fleet management has become a full-fledged sales argument in a market where cost control — fuel, maintenance, claims — is at the heart of financial and administrative directors' concerns.
