A worrying road report
Occupational road risk is a reality. According to a Road Safety study (ONISR 2023), more than one in three fatal accidents involving an employee is linked to dangerous driving behavior: speeding, aggressive driving or lack of attention.
These risky behaviors can be detected and corrected with the right tools. Thanks to embedded telematics, it is in fact possible to monitor and analyze the road behaviors of each driver and thus detect dangerous behaviors. Optimum also offers programmable alerts to prevent these various scenarios.
Optimum alerts
Different types of alerts exist on our car fleet management solution. Among these alerts (more than 40 available), two are of major importance in preventing risks related to road behavior:
1 The speed alert: it indicates when the speed is exceeded. For each driver or group of drivers, define the speed threshold and the time it takes to exceed this threshold, beyond which you want to be notified.
2 The eco-driving alert: it warns when a certain number of events occur such as sudden braking, violent accelerations or turns taken at high speed. These events affect driving and driver safety.

These programmable alerts result in notifications that report, in real time, any driving behavior deemed dangerous or not in compliance with your internal rules. Programming an alert means defining personalized thresholds based on predefined driving data (speed, braking, etc.). As soon as a driver exceeds these thresholds, an alert is triggered. It is instantly sent to you by email and notification on the OPTIMUM CONNECT platform and mobile application.
It is you who define the parameters according to your needs, your teams.
Why set up these risk prevention alerts in your car fleet?
Optimum's programmable alerts offer concrete advantages to strengthen the safety of your fleet. They make it possible to intervene quickly as soon as abnormal behavior is detected and thus to take the right decisions at the right time.
Thanks to their flexibility, they facilitate targeted prevention, by identifying the drivers most exposed to risks, in order to offer them appropriate support. This personalized approach contributes to the reduction of accidents by establishing a culture of continuous vigilance.
Adopting more fluid and responsible driving, as part of an eco-driving approach, makes it possible to reduce vehicle maintenance costs, reduce fuel consumption, and reduce car insurance expenses, while limiting CO₂ emissions. This approach thus contributes to both economic performance and environmental protection.
Finally, they actively participate in complying with your legal obligations, by helping you to put in place clear and traceable preventive measures.
The Optimum platform provides you with an intuitive interface from which you can create and adjust your alert settings in a few clicks, visualize events in real time, export usable reports and easily integrate this data into your training or awareness programs.
Conclusion: technology at the service of road risk prevention in companies
Optimum's programmable alerts go well beyond detecting anomalies; they are a preventive tool and a tool for companies that want to protect their employees and optimize the management of their car fleet. Adopting programmable alerts means choosing intelligent and proactive vigilance.
