At the time of the mandatory greening of business fleets, managers face many challenges, in particular that of electric charging.
How to reimburse the costs of charging at the home of employees?
How to measure the actual number of refills carried out, but also their costs?
A digital solution now gives all the answers... and makes the question a hell of a lot easier!
Nearly twenty years of expertise
For almost twenty years, Optimum Automotive has been designing, developing and marketing solutions whose aim is simple: to optimize the financial and environmental impact of business fleets as well as those of local authorities.
Not without success since the company now manages more than 200,000 vehicles belonging to 700 client companies spread over three continents and 30 countries.
A response to the heart of greening issues
Recently, Optimum Automotive has been offering a solution answering a question that is resolutely current and at the heart of the problems encountered by fleet managers at the time of the mandatory greening of their vehicles: that of compensation for home recharges.
“All vehicles equipped with a manufacturer's telematics box or a CAN box (supplied by Optimum Automotive) allow information to be sent back”, specifies the company.
A simple box to solve a difficult question
How to reimburse what, at first glance, is neither measurable nor quantifiable, let alone verifiable?
To these questions, which have hitherto been the subject of multiple debates, Optimum Automotive is now providing an answer thanks to the automation of the detection of electric recharges and the calculation of the reimbursement of expenses to employees.

How does it work?
The principle is simpler than one might think. Optimum Automotive executives explain:
“All vehicles equipped with a manufacturer's telematics unit or a CAN box (supplied by Optimum Automotive) allow feedback on vehicle battery charge levels.”
On the platform, the fleet manager enters the addresses of the homes and the price per kWh communicated by the employees.
All recharges made within a radius of a few hundred meters around homes will automatically be identified as home recharges.
A few clicks are enough for the refund
The fleet manager then has a summary table that shows him all the refills carried out in the specified area and over the selected period.
All he has to do is validate or refuse each of them.
The digital solution automatically generates an invoice and calculates the costs of electric recharges.
This data is then automatically integrated into the overall calculation of the vehicle and the fleet.
All that remains is to export a file of the reimbursements to be made, before transmitting it to the department responsible for making payments to employees.
Good to know
In addition to deploying this solution, which will simplify the lives of managers and employees driving electric vehicles, Optimum Automotive has just integrated the operator Shiftmove.
Born in Boston in 2023, Shiftmove aims to become the European leader in digital solutions for fleets by 2027, and “to increase the efficiency of more than one million commercial vehicles”.
