Les tool interfaces fleet management play a crucial role in collecting and sharing information, especially with suppliers. These exchanges can take place via unidirectional or bi-directional links, facilitating the flow of data essential to the effective management of vehicle fleets.

Manufacturers: at the heart of vehicle data

Among the service providers, car manufacturers occupy a prominent place. The data collected on their vehicles is more and more detailed: mileages, fuel consumption, maintenance information, safety features, and other indicators updated in real time.

As explained by Daniel Vassallucci, president ofOptimum Automotive : “To collect this data, we have developed connectors with manufacturers. But not all are at the same stage. Peugeot, Renault, Mercedes and Volkswagen are one step ahead.” These interfaces can be charged between 2 and 3 euros per month or up to 15 euros depending on the service provider.

Service providers and exchanges in real time

In addition to manufacturers, other players such as long term renters, oil tankers and maintenance specialists are deploying interfaces that allow the exchange of contractual and financial information in real time. Invoices are automatically integrated into customers' computer systems. “For relevant management, it is necessary to aim for comprehensiveness in the retrieval of information”, specifies Daniel Vassallucci.

Extensive connectivity for smart management

The connectors also open up to company information systems, by connecting to the databases of service stations (fuel prices), car parks (space availability), charging stations (vehicle compatibility and accessibility), as well as to road traffic data to optimize trips and routes.

“There are a large number of mobility players,” says Daniel Vassallucci. “Our data hub centralizes and aggregates all this information, which is then analyzed by dedicated applications.”

Aggregation and fine analysis of data

To further refine the analysis, the interfaces also integrate other types of data and files. For example, computer systems can connect to vehicle catalogs from specialists like Jato, allowing managers to optimize their car policy or to consult maintenance plans.
