Shiftmove appoints Taco van der Leij CEO France
Shiftmove, specialist in fleet management, announces the appointment of Taco van der Leij As Managing Director France and Senior Vice President International.
With 15 years of experience in the fleet industry, including 6 years spent at the head of Webfleet Europe, Taco van der Leij brings solid expertise in setting up mobility operations.
Her arrival inOptimum and Shiftmove Mark a strategic turning point for industry: an abandonment of the material constraints of traditional telematics in favor of a approach based on software and artificial intelligence (IA).
A strategic transformation
This appointment is part of the transformation dynamic initiated since the acquisition ofOptimum Automotive by Shiftmove in October 2024.
In France, Taco van der Leij succeeds Daniel Vassallucci, founder and former CEO of Optimum Automotive. He will play a key role in structuring the organization and expanding Shiftmove on the French market.
“Existing solutions have a lot of limitations that make fleets not perform to their full potential,” explains Taco van der Leij.
“Shiftmove is changing that by bringing the speed and intelligence of an AI-powered technology platform that seamlessly connects vehicle data. This is transforming the way fleets buy vehicles, manage costs, and operate at scale.”
He goes on to say:
“It is a complete transformation allowing a smarter financial control, of automated workflows And information in real time.
I joined Shiftmove because I believe in its vision: a world where data supports every owner, manager, and fleet operator through a single, intelligent platform.”
France, a strategic market
France represents a key market for the European expansion of Shiftmove. Thanks to the acquisition ofOptimum Automotive, a French reference company in fleet technology, Shiftmove now benefits from a solid customer base and recognized local expertise.
“Authorities are increasingly imposing regulations, increasing costs and complexity for fleet managers,” says Francine Gervazio, CEO of Shiftmove.
“At Shiftmove, we're simplifying this reality by breaking industry standards and surpassing the value of traditional solutions.”
She adds:
“Whether it's about small fleets of 10 vehicles or of big fleets with more than 10,000 vehicles, we are the Fleet CRM. We are replacing outdated processes and paperwork with seamless digital solutions.”
Ambitions: 1 million managed vehicles
With the ambition to become the European leader in digital solutions for fleet management by 2027, Shiftmove aims to manage over 1 million vehicles. The launch in France marks a major step in this continental strategy.
For Taco van der Leij, this change is both personal and strategic :
“I saw a lot of promises in this sector that never came true,” he says.
“Traditional players are evolving slowly, while the adoption of AI is accelerating. Shiftmove offers a real opportunity to remodel the fleet management thanks to technology.”
With its aggressive growth plans, Shiftmove gives Taco van der Leij a direct role in strategy and execution in a rapidly changing environment.
“This is a pivotal moment for fleet management in Europe”, concludes Francine Gervazio.
“Taco van der Leij will lead our expansion in France, leading Shiftmove's European growth strategy and seizing a unique opportunity to shape the future of corporate mobility.”
