Telematics, initially used to reduce vehicle costs in business, has diversified widely. Today, its functionalities extend to many aspects of fleet management: eco-driving, road safety, tire pressure control, administrative automation, vehicle electrification, and even insurance.

- Webfleet :
A leader in the European field, Webfleet is multiplying partnerships, such as with Project44, a logistics specialist offering real-time visibility of shipments.
Webfleet also offers a predictive tire pressure management system (TPMS), developed with Bridgestone, to monitor tire pressure and temperature for trucks and buses. Les alerts are sent in real time in case of anomalies. - Ocean (Orange Business Services) :
Specialized in the construction sector, Ocean manages 150,000 vehicles and machines. Its solutions allow the geolocation with or without GPS, the security of machines via remote blocking, and the management of schedules.
Ocean has also established alliances with construction federations and is fighting fuel theft using a connected gauge. - Kuantic :
Kuantic, based in Nice, offers an international platform (Italy, Spain, Spain, Germany, Germany, United Kingdom, Benelux, Netherlands) and is also aimed at automated tax management.
Their partnership with the start-up TrucksMe allows complete digital management of short-term vehicle rentals. - Optimum Automotive :

User feedback: Titi Floris
The Titi Floris group, specialized in passenger transport, has equipped 400 vehicles out of 2000 with telematic boxes. This technology facilitates the management of fleets in real time, optimizes routes, improves maintenance monitoring and respects legal constraints.
They activate telematics in batches, which allows them to analyze data gradually without cutting their margin too much. Telematics is also used to monitor the practices of drivers and improve the management of vehicles adapted to the transport of persons with reduced mobility (TPMR).
Economy and profitability
- Telematics costs an average of 10 to 15 euros per month and per vehicle, but the economic gains are rapid, especially in the event of recovering stolen vehicles or reducing the fleet thanks to the data collected.
- Example: the city of Quimper has invested 27,000 euros per year for 251 vehicles, but has already made a profit by eliminating unnecessary heavy vehicles.
Perspectives and challenges
- The European market is growing strongly: 22.5 million vehicles equipped are expected in 2025, compared to 11.5 million at the end of 2020.
